Chris and John's Wedding

My cousin, Chris, got married two weeks ago. It was a great ceremony. It fit them perfect. I told her she seems more giddy than emotional. I love seeing her so happy! John is a great person and we are so glad to have as part of our family. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but I got a few cute ones. The three girls are my two nieces, Ashleigh and Courage, and my cousins daughter Isabel. Or "Beebel" as her big brother endearingly nicknamed her. :) Josiah was very grouchy by the time we got around to our family picture at the end of the day, but at least we got one. He had already pulled my hair out and finally gave up for one picture. All the others were him flailing and throwing a fit. Parents who have had toddlers, I know you feel my pain. :P

Long Needed Updates

So it's been over a month since I blogged last, I think that is a record for me. It has been a very busy month, to my defense. Joe was finishing up the school year. He still has about 5 days to finish, even though the kids are all gone for the summer. I was in Boise for a week, my cousin got married, we have been house hunting, etc. To top it all off, I think my brain decided to challenge me by filling itself with mud, making it really hard to think clearly. :P Who knows what that is about.

The biggest thing going on right now is paperwork for buying a home. We found a place we love and are in the proccess of purchasing it. We are so excited that it has worked out so well. We both wanted some acreage with our home. While we could have easily afforded a starter home in town, we wanted to try finding something closer to what we wanted long term. The place we are getting, Lord willing, is a manufactured home with 2.5 acres. The home is less than two years old on a solid foundation, so we expect it to last us until we can afford to have it moved and have a stick built home built in its place. We don't plan on anything like that for a couple decades, hopefully. We are hoping to be able to move in by the middle of July. I will have more detailed information and pictures closer to that time.

Josiah is still growing and changing faster than I can adjust. He is saying more and more words and getting better at communicating with us. He still loves music and dancing. One of his favorite passtimes is pretending to cook. He gets out my skillets, lids and a spatula, puts them on the coffee table and cooks away. It's pretty cute. He also will spend long periods of time standing on chairs looking out the windows. He likes to tell me when he hears a car or dog. Every new sound catches his attention. I love watching is attentiveness to the "outdoors." That is another reason we wanted a bit of acreage. I don't know if I will be able to keep him inside if this home purchase all works out.

Those are the big things going on in our family. We are excited for the changes and look forward to more fun updates in the next month or so.
